On the 4th of March there will be a national demonstration, called
by Health Campaigns Together and The People's Assembly, in
support of the NHS.
This Tory government is starving our NHS and social care services of
resources. Waiting times at Accident & Emergency centres are lengthening,
mental health services are in dire straits, hospitals are closing, services for
older adults are breaking down because of cuts in funding for social care,
and the staff, who save so many lives on a daily basis, are overstretched and
demoralised. The Red Cross have called it a humanitarian crisis.
Yet Theresa May and Jeremy Hunt do nothing except increase
the number of contracts awarded to private companies.
If we do not take action, the NHS will be run into the ground. This
demonstration is an opportunity for you to tell Theresa May and Jeremy
Hunt what you think of their callous and cynical behaviour.
To support this protest, members of North East Hampshire CLP will be
meeting at Farnborough Main Rail Station (Platform 1) to catch the 09:46
train to Waterloo and then go on to Russell Square Underground Station. We aim to arrive there around 11:05 and join the thousands of otherscampaigning to be heard. Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell is expected tobe one of the many speakers on the day.
